On Arrival

On arriving at the event, please make your way to the Secretary’s lorry to collect your number and pay your sponsorship monies. Once you have been issued a number, you may make your way to the start where the starter will set you off.

Please note a competitor number is supplied per horse, if you are riding the course more than once, a number will be issued for each different horse.

On Completion

On completion of the course please collect your rosette from the secretary.

Start Times

Please select your desired time when entering via the Horse Events website.  Late entries will be permitted if space & time allows.

Times are allocated in 30 minute slots from 9:30 am to 2.30 pm.

Medical Armbands are requested.

 

 

Entry Fee & Sponsorship

Each rider must pay an entry fee of £20.00 per horse which includes paramedic cover.

This is non-refundable under any circumstances, even in the unlikely event of cancellation of the ride.

In addition, on the day, each rider must pay the minimum sponsorship of £20 (or £15 for a Pony Club member upon proof of Pony Club ID in the form of a PC tie or badge) before a number allowing him or her to take part in the ride can be issued.

Terms and Conditions

It is a condition of entry that the non refundable entry fee and sponsorship money is paid before starting the event.

  • All riders must wear hats complying BSI Kitemark (the EN 1384: 1997, the BSEN 1384: 1997 or the PAS 015: 1998 standards), or the brown Snell label and number (the Snell E2001 standard) or the red SAI Global Australian Standard AS/NZS 3838-1998 or AS/NZS 3838-2003. They must be worn with the chin strap correctly fastened at all times when mounted. Suitable footwear must be worn.
  • Body protectors and medical armbands are compulsory for Pony Club members and recommended for other competitors.
  • Horses and ponies must be over 4 years old or over.
  • Only three attempts are allowed at each jump.
  • Passing is allowed – be considerate to others and ask before you pass slowly.
  • Dogs must be kept on leads at all times.
  • In case of cancellation or postponement notification will be on the website by Friday 21st September 2018.

Scoring and Prizes

Rosettes will be awarded to all competitors completing the course.

Any rider raising over £100 sponsorship money will be awarded a prize.

Disclaimer

Horse riding over man made and other obstacles is an inherently dangerous activity and all reasonable care and precautions must be taken by each rider to ensure that all riders, spectators, horses and property are not injured or damaged.

The Committee confirm that they have inspected the course and fences and have exercised reasonable care in satisfying themselves that the fences are safe and secure prior to making the course and fences available for inspection but except in respect of death or personal injury caused by the Committee’s negligence no responsibility is accepted by the Committee for any damage to persons, horses or property howsoever caused which should arise from
a)  Defects in the course of fences not notified to the Committee by the rider
b)  Defects in the course or fences which manifest themselves after the course or fences are made available for inspection

During the course of an event it is possible that the fences or course may become less safe and secure. All riders shall be under a continuing duty to notify to the Committee any damage which they cause to, or notice in, any fence or the course during the event and to notify any defects to the Committee as it not possible for the Committee to inspect each fence and the course after every rider has completed the course or any part of it.

The Committee shall be under no liability in respect of any damage caused to any person, horse or property howsoever caused including any defect in the course or fences arising from fair wear and tear, wilful damage, negligence of any rider or others, or abnormal weather conditions, failure to follow the Committee’s or any official’s instructions (whether verbal or written) or the rulers.
