On ArrivalOn arriving at the event, please make your way to the Secretary’s lorry to collect your number and pay any outstanding sponsorship monies. Once you have been issued a number, you may make your way to the start where the starter will set you off.
Terms and conditions
- Hard hats and suitable footwear must be worn.
- Back protectors and medical armbands are compulsory for Pony Club members and recommended for other competitors.
- Horses and ponies must be over four years old.
- No liability for any damage to person, horse or property, howsoever caused, will be accepted.
- Passing must be allowed
- The decision of the Committee is final at all times.
Horse-riding over man-made and other obstacles is an inherently dangerous activity and each rider must take all reasonable care and precautions to ensure that they and other riders, spectators, members of the public, horses or property are not injured or damaged.
The Committee confirm that the course and fences have been inspected. Prior to making the course and fences available for inspection the Committee have exercised reasonable care in satisfying themselves that the fences are safe and secure. Except in respect of death or personal injury caused by the Committee’s negligence, no responsibility is accepted by the Committee or Landowners for any damage to persons, horses or property howsoever caused which arise from:
- Defects in the course or fences not notified to the Committee by the rider before participating.
- Defects in the course or fences which manifest themselves after the course and fences are made available for inspection.
During the event it is possible that the fences or course may become less safe and secure. All riders are under a continuing duty to notify the Committee of any damage which they cause to, or notice in, any fence or the course during the event. Any defects are to be notified to the Committee as it is not possible for the Committee to inspect each fence and the course after every rider has completed the course or any part of it.
The Committee and Landowners accept no liability in respect of any damage caused to persons, horses or property, howsoever caused including any defect in the course or fences arising from any of the following: fair wear and tear, wilful damage, negligence of any rider or others, abnormal weather conditions, failure to follow the Committee’s or any official’s instructions (oral or written), failure to follow the rules.
The decision of the Committee is final.
On completion of the course please report to the secretary’s tent, where you will be given a rosette.
Please select your desired time on entry form, when you make your entry online at www.horse-events.co.uk. For late entries we will try to accommodate times where space allows. Times will be start from 9:30 am last riders 2.30 pm. You may start your ride any time within that half an hour time slot and Pony Club members can ride at any time. We do request that you wear medical bands but they are not obligatory On arrival report to the secretary to receive your number.

Entry Fee & Sponsorship
Each rider must pay an entry fee of £20.00 which includes paramedic cover.
This is non-refundable under any circumstances, even in the unlikely event of cancellation of the ride.
In addition, on the day, each rider must pay the minimum sponsorship of £20 (or £15 for a Pony Club member upon proof of Pony Club ID in the form of a PC tie or badge) before a number allowing him or her to take part in the ride can be issued.
